Another Year Around the Sun

Happy 2022, everyone!

Yes, I know I’m a little late on the draw here, but I’ve heard it’s the sentiment that counts. My New Year’s Eve, I watched fireworks from the apartment bedroom window and it was quiet and lovely, but also somewhat lackluster. I’ve given up on the whole grandeur of a new year beginning type thing and the “going out with a bang”. That isn’t to say that I don’t enjoy a good New Year’s Eve party! Maybe next year, I’ll plan something a bit more festive.

However, when I think about the start of another year, I don’t necessarily have an entire list of resolutions that I vow to do in the coming year. I believe any time is a good time for change and it doesn’t always need a load of fanfare and a champagne toast at midnight (but if you want it, go for it!).

This season of my life has felt like quite a bit of change which always makes me a bit uncomfortable, but change is often a very good thing and I am learning to be flexible and be okay with things I can’t control. Like the fact that we haven’t posted on here for a while. Okay, okay, I know I can totally control how often I post, but now that I’ve had a break from it, I’m not going to fret about not keeping up with posting. It is already done and I can’t go back and change it none.

So, here I am in this blossoming January of 2022 with a heart full of hope for this year and all the years to come. Hope that I’ll write more (blogs, stories, journals, you name it) and hope that I somehow find my calling in life - everybody pray for me on that front. Hope that this year is better than 2021 in a lot of ways for a lot of people - the world has been pretty strange lately and I think we’re all getting a little sick of it - and hope that 2022 brings everyone (myself included) lots of contentment, joy, adventures, fulfillment, and happiness.

I’m keeping this one short so I don’t babble on too much, but I’ll be back soon! For real, this time. I really do miss it.
