The best parts of autumn...

The best parts of autumn...

Written by: Kenzie

This past weekend, the weather was finally getting the tiniest hint of fall air and I was living for it! I am so ready for all things fall and I just wanted to amp myself up for it with a small list of things I’m looking forward to in the coming months.

Really, this is just an excuse to find some beautiful fall photos and just daydream about crisp leaves and chilly evenings. If you love fall too, what’s your favorite part? Here are my top 5 favorite things about fall.

  1. The weather.

This one only works sometimes here in Texas, but when the weather cools down to the crisp 60s (or even lower), all I want to do is hike or read a book outside or sip some coffee. It’s even better in the quiet mornings or slow evenings when it’s kind of foggy or drizzly. This kind of weather gives me a sense of calm and peace and anticipation for the days to come.

2. The decor.

I’m a sucker for a cute pumpkin. Fall decor Is some of my favorite: hay stacks, scarecrows, gourds of all shapes and sizes, you name it! I also love the muted tones associated with fall and the warm colors in the crisp days.

3. The attire.

Sweaters, jeans and leggings, coats, flannels, boots, fuzzy socks. It’s the ULTIMATE cozy. What’s not to like about being cozy all the time and not sweating your butt off in a cute outfit that isn’t shorts and a tee.My favorite place to find sweaters is estate sale for real shops because they’re already worn in and usually not scratchy.

4. The flavors.

I love soup, I love coffee, and I love fall spices and warm cinnamon breads. I love apples and pies and home-cooked meals. Anything hearty and warm that makes you feel comfy.

5. The activities.

For some reason, I feel less stressed during fall. Maybe it’s because I’m not so hot all the time. It just seems like a small step towards slower living in the fall. Long walks in the woods, carving pumpkins, taking a little time to make dinner extra special. These things seem to come naturally in the fall and it helps ease my mind and quiet my head and reminds me to just enjoy the things around me.

As a bonus list item, the coral vine is also in bloom and it is absolutely magical. The picture on the right is from our backyard but the whole side of the house gets covered in gorgeous pink flowers every fall. I may love coral vine, but no one loves it more than Callie so feast your eyes, sister!
